Trilby Station Accommodation

Farmstay NSW

Darling River Camping

Trilby Station, a unique outback farmstay, offers outback country hospitality and riverside accommodation in the fully renovated Stockman's Cottages and the new Shearer's Bunkhouse. Or you may choose to avail yourself of the Powered Caravan Sites and secluded river campsites dotted among age old river gums for some of the best Darling River camping there is.

Guests can self cater or enjoy a range of delicious Australian country-style meals such as Liz's farmyard breakfasts, stockman's lunches (often served on the banks of the river or out in the paddocks where Gary is working) and two or three course dinners served to your accommodation.

Trilby Station, with a total of 13 bedrooms (26 beds) is ideal for groups, small coach groups or as a conference venue with a difference. Liz enjoys providing morning/afternoon teas and/or lunch and a walking tour to large groups looking for a short break in their journey.

For those doing a road trip or travelling by caravan, we know that you like to just wander and be foot loose and fancy free. However, to avoid disappointment, we suggest you give us a call on 02 6874 7420 (between 8am and 6pm), send a text message to 0419 447 938 or use the contact form a day or two before your arrival in our area. This way we can save you unnecessary driving time by confirming we've got a spot for you.

Please note, we do have Telstra Next G mobile phone coverage at Trilby Station, enabling visitors to easily keep in touch with family and friends. Wireless internet can be accessed on your laptop with the use of a Telstra Wireless USB modem.

New shearer's quarters were established on Trilby Station after the original building was destroyed by fire and today's shearer's would be hard pressed to find more comfortable lodgings anywhere. There is a total of 9 twin share bedrooms - the six inside bedrooms have reverse cycle air-conditioning and the three older bedrooms outside have fans, all have electric blankets. With a slow combustion wood fire, share bathrooms and laundry, TV and video – the Shearer's Bunkhouse is ideal for large fishing parties and groups.

The caterer's size kitchen has all modern conveniences (2 gas stoves, fridges, freezer and microwave) and is fully equipped, right down to camp ovens for that traditional outback meal. Outside on the sprawling lawns you'll find a gas BBQ, thatched gazebo and paved campfire area – ideal to watch the sun setting after another exhilarating day in the outback. All linen and towels are also provided and guests are welcome to use the new pool situated near the homestead and cottages.

Photographic images of life on the station over 100 years ago, historic local Cobb and Co hotels and buildings and of the paddle steamers that plied the Darling River up until the 1930's are mounted in the Shearer's Bunkhouse for your perusal. Take a close look at our taxidermy dingo, killer of well over 100 sheep in just one paddock before we shot him, impressive pig and feral goat with trophy width horns.

  • $70 twin room, Children $20 - self catering. Full caterer's kitchen, Gas BBQ, campfire pit for cooking over the coals (camp oven supplied).
  • Accommodation, scrumptious home cooked dinner including cheese/nibbles platter and dessert and a cooked breakfast – $110 per person, $60 per child (6 - 13years).
