Two hours drive from Cobar (160km – approx. 60km sealed), one and a half hours from Bourke (125Km – approx. 20km sealed), two and a half hours from Wilcannia (200km, unsealed) and 400km from Broken Hill on the Darling River Run. 4WD isn’t necessary but recommendeddue to the added ground clearance. Please check road conditions if there has been rain in the area. Unsealed roads are closed in the event of rain.
PLEASE DON’T RELY ON GOOGLE MAPS AND YOUR GPS IN THE OUTBACK, unless you will enjoy being ‘led up the garden path’ on very indirect routes. Look at a road map! We have recently been issued with an actual street address, 10965 Toorale Rd, Louth NSW 2840.
Getting to Trilby Station from either Wilcannia (south-west) or Louth (north east) is along the Darling River with the choice of going along the western or eastern side of the river. These roads are both similar, though some maps only show the road along the river (on the eastern side). We are located on the western side of the river between Louth and Tilpa,.
From Louth – cross the Darling River in the village on Weelong Road (bridge is beside Shindy’s Inn). Follow road 3km and turn left at the T junction (sign here says Trilby Stn 19km). Turn left again at the large Trilby Station billboard and mailbox. Follow road 3km to the accommodation and homestead complex.
From Tilpa: Head west on the ‘Tongo’ road. 1.5km out is a T intersection, turn right towards Louth and continue upstream 66km to our Trilby Station sign posted turn off on your right.
