Your hosts Liz & Gary Murray have lived at Trilby since their marriage in 1981 and have four children.
While sons Tom (along with his wife Jess and son Hubert) and Will have settled at home on the station, daughter Alex has established Design Tribe Dubbo – the city’s dedicated Architectural practice and AJ, a Commercial Pilot with Heli-Muster and based at Victoria River Downs in the NT, is living his dream … flying and fishing!

Gary is very hard to get off the station, commenting work is his hobby, but Liz enjoys the challenges of remote area hiking; which she likens to ‘physical meditation’ – having tackled the Kokoda Track, Mt Kilimanjaro, the Larapinta Trail, The Anti-Atlas Mountains in Morocco, the stunningly beautiful Simien Mountains in Ethiopia, Mt Everest Base Camp with Alex and AJ, the Indian Himalayas in Ladakh, Northern India, the Milford track in New Zealand, The Annapurna’s in Nepal (Nepal is just one of those countries you’ll long to return to after your first visit), the Al Hajar mountains of Oman among and the Singalila Ridge bordering Nepal and India among others. Liz’s week long hike around Wadi Rum and Petra in Jordan was abandoned due to Covid 19 travel restrictions in 2020, so fingers crossed for later this year.
After 40 years, Liz and Gary still love their outback lifestyle at Trilby. They have put their heart and soul into the property – come share it with them.
